This article outlines how a local cougar died from the mange because its immune system was so impacted by five different rat poisons. This animal would still be alive but for the human use of rat poisons. These poisons travel up the food chain to the top predator. This is very upsetting news. We must do better. Stop using rat poison — it kills more than just rats. In this case, it has been found in FIVE cougars (1 mama and 4 fetuses). It was the first time a necropsy was able to test the blood of fetuses.
