This is a heartwarming story of a rescued mountain lion cub discovered near Idyllwild that was emaciated, dehydrated, and facing other medical complications. Normally, cougar cubs stay with their mom for a year, but this one appeared to be orphaned at just 14 weeks. Today was the first day of three days we will be participating in the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) Rally. Instead of hosting in the planned city of Portland, OR, due to COVID-19 the LTA Rally 2020 is being held virtually. We hope to be able to use some of the tools, techniques, and skills we gain from this conference and apply it to our work in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor. Learn more about the LTA Rally.

Fire Myths Clarified

Spend some quality time reading this. Many thanks to Chad Hanson with the John Muir Project for his years of fire science work. View the article in Governing.

Rodenticide Ban Bill Passed!

with No Comments

We are thrilled to announce that Governor Newsom signed AB 1788 today, which bans second generation anticoagulant rodenticides. This means predators and scavengers like mountain lions, bobcats, and owls will no longer die a slow, painful death due to eating a poisoned rodent. Thank you for all the letters submitted and all the organizations involved in this effort!
