A lot of organizations including The Trust for Public Land, The Nature Conservancy, the Association of California Water Agencies and Hills For Everyone support the passage of Prop. 68. This proposition on the June 5th ballot will provide much needed funding for California’s parks (including land acquisition and recreational access) and water features (stream protections and safe drinking water). In 2011 The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) purchased the Hayashi property in Brea’s Carbon Canyon. It lies adjacent to Chino Hills State Park at the juncture of Soquel and Carbon Creeks. The land was purchased as mitigation for OCTA’s freeway projects. It is one of seven preserves recently renamed through a voting contest offered by OCTA.
