As the Santa Ana winds return to our area this fall season, we are reminded of their devastating effect 10 years ago when the winds drove the Freeway Complex Fire to burn over 30,000 acres in four counties. In addition, over 280 homes were damaged or destroyed and 95% of Chino Hills State Park burned. The idea of a short cut to the Olinda Landfill off of the 57 freeway at Tonner Canyon has raised its ugly head in the Brea City Council race.
