The Chino Hills Planning Commission meeting this week and agreed with the staff report that the clear and documented intent of the 1994 General Plan was to zone the 3000 acres in southeastern Chino Hills as 1 unit per 40 acres. Last week the Chino Hills City Council passed the long awaited update of the General Plan. They set aside the issue of zoning for the 3,000 acres of hills along the 71 freeway. Landowners have suggested the land is zoned one unit per five acres. Tonight the Chino Hills City Council will be considering an update of their old General Plan. There is disagreement as to the zoning of property in the undeveloped hills west of the 71 freeway in southern Chino Hills. City documents show the area is zoned 1 unit per 40 acres – a carry over from when the land was under the control of San Bernardino County.
