Last week we had a tour with State Parks of Coal Canyon. This is the ONLY area wildlife have to move from the Santa Ana Mountains to Chino Hills State Park and beyond. It was hard to see it being used for so many construction purposes. We will need to work with a lot of agencies to come up with some solutions.
The Champion Newspapers just printed a story on our Wildfire Study. Our consultant Melanie Schlotterbeck was interviewed for the article. In light of the recent fires, everyone should take proactive actions to make their homes safer. Consider installing ember proof vents, boxing in your eaves, getting rid of the windows in your garage door, replacing vinyl windows with metal ones (that won’t melt in a fire’s heat), etc. View the Chino Champion article.
Both Claire Schlotterbeck and Melanie Schlotterbeck were interviewed for this OC Register article featuring Hills For Everyone’s recent Wildfire Study. On days like today, it is a good reminder to take important precautionary steps to reduce fire risks near your home. View the Orange County Register article.
Also, we just interviewed with Channel 4 KNBC. Watch for our consultant Melanie Schlotterbeck at 5 pm!
