The City of Arcadia is proposing to cut down 34 heritage oaks and encroach on 45 more, so that news cameras have better views of the racetrack for two weeks during the Olympics. Here is Hills For Everyone Executive Director’s thoughts as relayed in the Pasadena Star-News: “To cut down trees that are hundreds of years old (and that other wildlife depend on) for a two week event is the height of human arrogance and short sightedness.”
