Apparently the City of Industry is looking at nearly $6 million in fines due to damaging the environment. City officials contend the former Mayor’s company “Zerep,” hired for a variety of tasks, did the damage unbeknownst to the City or Council and without a permit. The City is contemplating filing a suit against the former mayor. Hills For Everyone Executive Director, Claire Schlotterbeck, stated she hoped the audit of City docs would shed light on the system. The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors has now asked the Grand Jury to investigate. This could be the tip of the iceberg, as they say—stay tuned.
