HFE Supports Funds for Conservation

Today, Hills For Everyone (and 16 other conservation organizations) urged state leaders to maintain at least $187 million from the Greenhouse Gas Fund (GGRF) for natural and working lands investments in the 2015-2016 fiscal year.  While there are a number of priorities in the GGRF that further define the state’s path forward to a low-carbon future–our natural and working lands must be a key part of this path if we are going to be successful in reaching long-term climate goals. … Read More

HFE Supports Wildlife Corridor Language in Legislation

Hills For Everyone just signed on to a support letter for SBX1-1.  This legislation would provide more funding for wildlife crossings throughout the state by adding wildlife corridor projects as eligible to receive funds from a newly-created Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program. This new language also requires the CTC to evaluate transportation projects partially on their effectiveness to increase habitat connectivity. Thanks to Senator Beall for adding the language.
