How Are Your NELs?

The National Park Foundation has this wonderful video about the need for people to get outdoors.  It comes in a very serious form… a doctor discussion a patient’s NEL (Nature Engagement Levels).  Hills For Everyone works to protect our natural lands not only for the wildlife and habitat value, but also for people.  Nature is an important educator, de-stressor, and calmer.  Make sure you have high NELs. Check out the video.

Wilderness Park or Tourist Destination?

with No Comments

Ideas proposed for the Puente Hills Landfill are being considered. While some are habitat, wilderness and trail focused, others scream tourist destination with gondolas, restaurants and manufactured features. Read the article in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Congress Allow Conservation Dollars to Sunset

with No Comments

What a huge disappointment! Instead of reauthorizing the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), Congress let the bill sunset today. Many of our public lands have benefited from these important LWCF dollars…. including Chino Hills State Park. This eliminates future federal dollars from this program. Let’s hope conservation wins the day in the months to come as nonprofits spearhead the effort to reauthorize the bill allowing more lands to be protected in perpetuity.
