Hills For Everyone understands that at the root of all land use battles are policies adopted by a City or County in its General Plan. That’s why when the City of Brea did its focused update of the Brea General Plan this year, Hills For Everyone offered numerous policies to strengthen the document as it relates to wildlife, native plants, lighting, road crossings, and more. All in all, more than 25 conservation-oriented policies were incorporated or updated in the document by the Planning Commission. The Commission’s final vote was 4-0-1 to recommend adoption of the General Plan in April 2026.
The City Council received the document and reviewed it at its June 2nd meeting. There, the Council unanimously voted to approve the it. This is now one of the strongest and most conservation oriented General Plans in Orange County. Three cheers for all the decision makers and staff involved in making this particular guiding document so solid.
