Bobcat Facts

Did you know bobcats are the most numerous wild cats in the Americas and that they are found in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor? These felines are much smaller than cougars and have smaller territories. Unlike cougars whose tails are nearly as long as their body, bobcats have a short, stubby tail (see photo!). Bobcats are generally solitary animals who avoid human contact.

Escrow Closes on 80 Acres

We are thrilled to announce escrow has closed on the 80 acre Eastbridge property. The land was surrounded on three sides by Chino Hills State Park and on one side by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (L.A. Mountains). Thanks to the landowner (the Shopoff Group), the Wildlife Conservation Board, our consultants, and MRCA for their hard work making this conservation acquisition happen.

San Gabriel Mountains National Monument Advances

Newly seated Senator Alex Padilla is advancing the creation of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument through recently introduced legislation. The bill also proposes to improve and protect one million acres of land throughout California. The National Monument includes the western lands of the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor. SB 266 Gets More Press

Our bill to protect more land by adding it into Chino Hills State Park was featured in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. If SB 266 is successful, the Park will grow by about 1,530 acres. Thanks to Senator Josh Newman and his staff for their great work on the legislation. The bill’s next stop is the Appropriations Committee. Read the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin article.
