Ridgeline Case Resolved, “We” Won!

The Board of Supervisors complied with part of the Judge’s order: rescinding all the approvals and entitlements of the Esperanza Hills project. After a long discussion amongst the Board members. The Board was considering holding Cielo Vista’s approvals hostage so that they could force Cielo Vista to sell an easement to Esperanza Hills! OCTA Approves Conservation Plan

In 2005, Friends of Harbors, Beaches and Parks coordinated a coalition of environmental groups to negotiate a comprehensive mitigation program for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), as it considered renewing its 1/2-cent sales tax measure called Measure M.  Hills For Everyone was one of 30+ conservation and community groups that supported this concept and ultimately the measure.  The measure committed OCTA to spend a minimum of 5% (roughly $243.5 million) on acquisition, restoration, and management.  To date, the Authority … Read More

Per Supervisor Lisa Bartlett’s Fifth District E-Newsletter: “The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) and Caltrans are proposing to build a direct, median-to-median, tolled connector to link the northbound 241 Toll Road and eastbound 91 Express Lanes and to link the westbound 91 Express Lanes to the southbound 241 Toll Road.
