The Chino Hills State Park Interpretive Association is sponsoring an event at the State Park on August 12th. It will be first come, first served and is limited to the first 100 cars or 250 people. City of Industry Won’t Stop

The City of Industry continues to consolidate its holdings in Tonner Canyon. In 2016, the City bought the last remaining 800 acres of the former Firestone Scout Reservation. In the purchase agreement it states the land was acquired as mitigation for a project. That “project” remains obscured by Industry’s lack of transparency, but from all accounts the City intends to develop a water reservoir and solar farm, requiring bulldozing of the entire canyon. Status of Park Bonds

Three park bond acts are under consideration: Senate Bill 5, Assembly Bill 18, and an initiative by The Nature Conservancy. There has not been a Park Bond Act since 2000. It is expected that the two houses of the Legislature will reach agreement on one measure and, for the first time, it appears the Governor may sign a park bond act.
