City of Industry Risking $9M for Solar Farm

It appears the City of Industry has already put out $9M to advance plans on a solar farm in Tonner Canyon even though they don’t yet own the land. There are still a lot of land use decisions that remain including zone changes–but entities outside the City of Industry. Without those changes the City wouldn’t get very far in its plans. Industry Partner Sought for Debt Collection

The fun just keeps happening thanks to the great reporting of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. It appears the entity, the San Gabriel Valley Water and Power LLC, the City of Industry is planning to use for its solar farm in Tonner Canyon is being pursed by debt collectors for owing $50M on other troubled past developments. Industry’s Plans Revealed in City Meeting–Solar Farm

So it is now out that the City of Industry does want to put a massive solar farm on the Tres Hermanos property in Tonner Canyon. It is so big, it could generate 10% of the electricity used by the City of Los Angeles! 4th of July Volunteers Needed

We could use your help! Every 4th of July, Hills For Everyone calls on its supporters to volunteer to staff our information booth at the Brea Country Fair. The event runs from 9 AM to 3 PM at City Hall Park (on Brea Blvd. south of Imperial Hwy). Depending on the number of volunteers we have, the shifts generally run an hour and a half each. Fun at the Brea Centennial Parade

We had so much fun at the #BreaCentennialParade. Thanks to all our volunteers for showing up to demonstrate what we can do in the State Park (hike, ride, camp, birdwatch, etc.) And many thanks to Damon McJunkin with Chino Hills State Park for driving the ranger vehicle with the mountain lion on top.
