Recently we’ve been fielding calls from concerned park visitors about violations occurring in the State Park. If you see something in Chino Hills State Park that violates the rules, causes harm to the park or its resources, or is of concern… you should report it to one of these two rangers: Ranger Ken Gordon (951) 503-3347 Ranger Chad Adriano (951) 933-6354
Now that we are officially “in” Spring, here are some facts about California Poppies. It became the official state flower of California on March 2, 1903. And, on April 6th it is California Poppy Day. Poppies are bright, cheerful, and easy to grow in your garden too. Like all plants, wildlife, and resources in our parklands–they are protected by law. Keep them in the ground where they belong.
Yay! The Hills For Everyone wildfire resilience/recovery grant from California State Parks Foundation funded the Rolling M Ranch Campground sign replacement. Here is a before and after photo. If you are interested in helping remove obsolete barbed wire from Chino Hills State Park, there is a work party scheduled the morning of Friday, February 25th. A list of items to wear or bring will be provided. It is likely the last volunteer day on this task until the Fall. To volunteer, please reach out to us and we’ll get you to the volunteer coordinator.
