While our friends around the State are suffering with the wind-driven fires, it is a reminder that we too have been there. We know your losses, stay strong. Drop by November 17 & 18 from 10-2 for our Freeway Complex Fire exhibit at the Chino Hills State Park Discovery Center and see what lessons have been learned and how the recovery is going. As the Santa Ana winds return to our area this fall season, we are reminded of their devastating effect 10 years ago when the winds drove the Freeway Complex Fire to burn over 30,000 acres in four counties. In addition, over 280 homes were damaged or destroyed and 95% of Chino Hills State Park burned. This is a US and Canada wide event that helps with determining the population health of various bird species. You do not have to be an expert. Vacation to the Planets Event

The Chino Hills State Park Interpretive Association is sponsoring an event at the State Park on August 12th. It will be first come, first served and is limited to the first 100 cars or 250 people. The cost is $10 per car. Interested attendees can check in at 4721 Sapphire Road in Chino Hills.
