Chino Hills State Park is currently seeking to hire several (3-5) new seasonal Park Aides to staff the new Bane Canyon Kiosk and the Discovery Center.  The position is seasonal, meaning employees can work up to 9 month or 1500 hours, and are required to be separated for 3 months between seasons.  The pay is just over $10.00 per hour to start.  The expected schedule is 24-40 hours per week, usually 8 hour shifts, and weekends and holidays are usually required.  State Parks can be flexible with school/employment schedules and it is a great opportunity for students who are looking for summer and/or weekend employment.

Job responsibilities include collecting fees, registering campers, selling passes, providing the public with information, conducting camp checks, and assisting rangers with other projects.  They may even help with interpretation!

Qualifications include a valid California Driver’s License and good driving record, clear background check (candidates will need live scan fingerprinting), and State Parks prefers candidates 18 years or older.

Additional skills preferred include customer service skills, reliability, communication skills, ability to complete accountability paperwork and ability to work independently.

If you know anyone who may be interested, please have them contact Carmen Zone at Carmen.zone@parks.ca.gov.  A standard state application can be downloaded online at www.parks.ca.gov and can be mailed or scanned directly to Carmen.
