Hills For Everyone and the Power In Nature Coalition co-hosted a press event this morning announcing Southern California’s leadership in preserving important landscapes for 30×30 (protecting 30% of lands and waters by 2030).

As it relates to our goals and priorities, our partner, The Conservation Fund is actively negotiating for the preservation of the last phase of eastern ridgelines adjacent to Chino Hills State Park. For nearly 50 years, our goal has been to complete the eastern ridgelines to protect them from development, keep the viewshed intact, and the water quality exceptional.

Legislation from Senator Josh Newman and Assemblymember Phillip Chen allows for the Park’s expansion through SB 266, which Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law in 2021. In partnership with the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, earlier phases are protected already.
