A clear and moon-free night means tonight should bring wonderful views of the Perseid Meteor Shower. The best night to view it is tonight (August 12) and there is no need for binoculars or a telescope. You should be able to see meteors with the naked eye. One tip is that the showers will be coming from the east–so set your gaze that direction!
Our open spaces and dark hills allow for excellent viewing conditions. Avoiding city lights will increase your chances of seeing a spectacular show.
The OC Register posted an article on best places to view the showers from. Check it out.
