The City of Brea has released the Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will analyze a project proposed by Aera Energy. Aera owns 265 acres at the juncture of Carbon Canyon and Valencia. The land includes the Christmas tree farm along Rose and the oil fields on both sides of Lambert Road. The project proposes 1,100 units.

Comments are due January 23, 2019 at 5:00 PM to Maribeth Tinio.

A Scoping Meeting will be held January 16, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Brea City Hall, 1 Civic Center Circle in Brea. The purpose of a Scoping Meeting is to tell those writing the EIR what to study. It is not enough to say you do not like the project.

It should be noted that the City of Brea, not Aera Energy, hired the firm that is writing the EIR.
