Today we listened in on the introduction of the California Natural Resources Agency’s (CNRA) newest team member via a Zoom open house. The Governor appointed Meghan Hertel to the position of Deputy Secretary of Habitat and Biodiversity. Our own Melanie Schlotterbeck gets to work with her and the CNRA team through the Partnership Coordinating Committee and her 30×30 work. (30×30 = the campaign to protect 30% of the state’s lands and coastal waters by 2030.)
In a split vote (3-2) OC Board of Supervisors deny the Hills For Everyone appeal on the Menchego Site CUP. Additionally, three Supervisors publicly state their support for preserving the land too! View the outcome synopsis.
