Today is winter solstice! It is both the shortest day of the year and the first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. When the Northern Hemisphere is tilted the farthest away from the sun, causing the sun to be at its lowest point in the sky, this is Winter Solstice. This results in shorter days and longer nights. We can look forward to longer days from here on out!
