Brea Brush Fire on 4th of July

In case you hadn’t heard there was a 2-3 acre brush fire in Carbon Canyon (Brea side) around 2:30 this morning (July 4th). Below are a few photos. Damp morning conditions, low winds, and low temps appear to have aided the fire agencies working the fire. It appears the fire burned the OCTA ‪‎Hayashi‬ Preserve. “We did not come this far to walk away without a victory.” We won and we lost, but we stopped the project! Most cities surrounding Chino Hills State Park do not allow fireworks and neither does the Park.  The weeks before and after the Fourth of July have the most incidents of illegal fireworks starting fires in the Park.
