Hills For Everyone Consultant Melanie Schlotterbeck presented at the annual CSUF Geography Club “All Points of the Compass” Conference today. She is an alumni of the Geography Department and focused the presentation on how geography tools (both environmental and planning) have been used to help conserve land in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor.
The Cities of Diamond Bar and Chino Hills are turning up the heat on the City of Industry for its discounted purchase of the Tres Hermanos land. Many of the projects Hills For Everyone is involved with are at the Wildland Urban Interface. These locations are particularly difficult to defend, especially when Santa Ana Winds are a factor. It is helpful to have OCFA take this approach–an outside investigation–and review of its responses to the #CanyonFire2.
