2025 End of Year Recap Video

Learn about HFE’s 2025 work in this Recap Video. HFE spent much of its time focused on defense rather than offense. From public lands sell off proposals to the dismantling of the California Environmental Quality Act—it was a tough year. HFE also lost its founder David Myers, who originally envisioned Chino Hills State Park. Here’s to hoping 2026 allows us to complete additional conservation acquisitions in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor.

Status Report on Cougar Listing

We are thrilled to report that after seven years of scientific study, the California Fish and Game Commission voted Thursday (February 12) to accept the staff’s recommendation to list the subspecies of cougar found in Southern California and along the Central Coast.
