Rodenticide Ban Bill Passed!

with No Comments

We are thrilled to announce that Governor Newsom signed AB 1788 today, which bans second generation anticoagulant rodenticides. This means predators and scavengers like mountain lions, bobcats, and owls will no longer die a slow, painful death due to eating a poisoned rodent. Thank you for all the letters submitted and all the organizations involved in this effort!

Mountain Lion Dies on Freeway

with No Comments

This is just sooo sad. These freeway locations (like Liberty Canyon at the 101) need to be retrofitted as quickly as possible or we will continue to have these unnecessary deaths. State laws should change so that any future road/highway project must address the needs of wildlife movement. If you budget for it now, it is cheaper than retrofitting for it later. We must do better.
