Go outside right now and check out the Blue Super Moon. The “blue” is because this is the second full moon in August. Normally there is only one full moon a month. A “super moon” appears larger than normal because it is closer to the Earth in its elliptical orbit.
Mark your calendar! On December 21st, Jupiter and Saturn will appear as a double planet in the night sky. The last time this happened was the Middle Ages. This event is called a “conjunction” when two items in the night sky line up. And, you can view it with your naked eye–no telescope or binoculars needed! View the article in the Washington Post.
