Passing of Chief Salas

We were saddened to hear the spiritual leader of the Gabrieleño Band of Mission Indians’ Kizh nation, Chief Ernest “Ernie” Perez Teutimez Salas, died at age 88. The Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor is within the Kizh nation’s ancestral lands. May his legacy live on, his teachings be remembered, and the tribe’s work continue.
