State Park Trails & Streams Overcome by Rain

For those of you wanting to hike/bike/ride in Chino Hills State Park: here are photographs of why the Park’s trails are currently closed. Massive trail damage and repairs are needed due to the heavy rains. Your patience and avoidance of the area is greatly appreciated. Maybe this is a chance in the New Year for you to try another park while this one dries out?

New Exhibit at State Park Discovery Center

If you haven’t already been to the Chino Hills State Park Discovery Center in Brea (4500 Carbon Canyon Road) there will be a new special exhibit starting January 6th and running on weekends through January 28th. OCTA Approves Conservation Plan

In 2005, Friends of Harbors, Beaches and Parks coordinated a coalition of environmental groups to negotiate a comprehensive mitigation program for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), as it considered renewing its 1/2-cent sales tax measure called Measure M.  Hills For Everyone was one of 30+ conservation and community groups that supported this concept and ultimately the measure.  The measure committed OCTA to spend a minimum of 5% (roughly $243.5 million) on acquisition, restoration, and management.  To date, the Authority … Read More

Proposed Flyover Connector From 241 to 91 Freeway

Per Supervisor Lisa Bartlett’s Fifth District E-Newsletter: “The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) and Caltrans are proposing to build a direct, median-to-median, tolled connector to link the northbound 241 Toll Road and eastbound 91 Express Lanes and to link the westbound 91 Express Lanes to the southbound 241 Toll Road.
