The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Bill Update SB 131
CEQA, as we know it, has been gutted.
The public relied on CEQA to identify where sensitive habitats and species are, determine project impacts, and reduce those impacts through mitigation.
These requirements are now eliminated from CEQA. Developers are thrilled.
Legislators and the Governor promised to fix sloppy language through a cleanup bill. We need your help requesting this action.
Who to thank (Asm. Chen and Castillo) then ask for: a cleanup bill that (1) includes habitat definitions and (2) excludes “advance manufacturing” (industrial uses).
Who to hold accountable (Sen. Seyarto, Asm. Calderon, and Sen. Archuleta) by asking why they voted against nature and then ask for: a cleanup bill that (1) includes habitat definitions and (2) excludes “advance manufacturing” (industrial uses).
