We are saddened to share the news that Larry Klementowski, Klem, passed away from cancer on Tuesday. Klem served many years as the President of Chino Hills State Park Interpretive Association, dedicating much of his time and energy to supporting the State Park. In early years, he enjoyed hiking and bike riding in the Park. Eventually he led the planning, purchasing, and installation of a large number of trail signs in the Park to enhance visitor safety. He also helped with the removal of barbed wire fencing throughout the Park and assisted in activities at the Discovery Center. Klem coordinated the installation and monitoring of counters which document visitor use monthly. The number of visitors had been underestimated for many years and the accurate numbers have justified more resources coming to this Park. We need more Klems. He will be missed.
