Come out and enjoy nature next door. The Puente Hills Preserve is full of beautiful vistas, fresh air, and flora and fauna that make this area one of the world’s hot spots for biodiversity. Find out where all the local trailheads are, what is being preserved and how to become a part of the Preserve’s volunteer team. The Habitat Authority’s outreach programming guides over 3,000 visitors through the Preserve each year.
Habitat Authority Volunteer Docent Naturalists are needed to help lead school group hikes, public hikes, give environmental education presentations and assist with special community events. Become a part of the effort and join our team of Volunteer Docent Naturalists! Interested persons must be able to hike on trails, enjoy working with youth and have an interest in nature and environmental education. Applications are available on-line at www.habitatauthority.org/waystohelp . All applicants must be over 18 years old and screened before attending the Orientation.
