The Orange County Subdivision Commission recommended approval of the changes to the Vesting Tentative Tract Map for the proposed Esperanza Hills project. Residents sued the County of Orange and developer in July 2015. In late June 2016, the court ruled that the project’s Greenhouse Gas analysis was inadequate and it’s mitigation was deferred. He ordered the County to overturn the project’s approvals and environmental documents, which they have yet to do.
The developer is now proposing a single entrance into the 340 unit project off of Stonehaven in Yorba Linda. Emergency access is proposed via an old easement through the neighboring Cielo Vista property, which has yet to be settled in court. Residents are now focused on Saving Stonehaven.
The Board of Supervisors decides the remedy to the court’s decision, the changes in the project’s Specific Plan, and this single daily access to Stonehaven on December 13th.
