Thanks to a wonderful partnership with Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP), a joint Opinion Editorial was written by our (and FHBP) consultant Melanie Schlotterbeck about opportunities that exist in and around Orange County for conservation acquisitions. 30×30 Campaign Maps Created

Through a great partnership with Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP), Hills For Everyone used FHBP’s Green Vision Map to identify 275 properties (totaling over 30,000 acres) in and around Orange County for possible acquisition. Right now, the California Natural Resources Agency is taking ideas for land acquisitions around the state to help implement its 30×30 Campaign. Barn Owls Hunt at Dusk

Saturday night we were at Chino Hills State Park camping and witnessed three barn owls hunting at dusk. It was amazing. Nature is wonderful. We are grateful to have been part of the preservation of this land for current and future generations.

We advocate for the protection of land, work with willing sellers and donors to get land protected, inform political leaders and gather their support, and use state and federal dollars for the conservation acquisitions–but we do not own or manage the land. Bobcat Facts

Did you know bobcats are the most numerous wild cats in the Americas and that they are found in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor? These felines are much smaller than cougars and have smaller territories. Unlike cougars whose tails are nearly as long as their body, bobcats have a short, stubby tail (see photo!). Bobcats are generally solitary animals who avoid human contact.
