What is in store for the 2,450 acre Tres Hermanos ranch? That’s the question asked by the Los Angeles Times in this article. The Cities of Industry, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, and now Commerce, are battling for the answer. Hills For Everyone Executive Director Claire Schlotterbeck acknowledged the biological diversity of the site isn’t well known because the land has been protected with armed guards at the gates and on patrol since 1978. The City of Brea has released the Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will analyze a project proposed by Aera Energy. Aera owns 265 acres at the juncture of Carbon Canyon and Valencia. The land includes the Christmas tree farm along Rose and the oil fields on both sides of Lambert Road.
