One measure of the remaining wildness of our region is the presence of golden eagles. With a wing span of up to 7.5 feet, the dark brown bird with the golden sheen can fly up to 200 MPH. They perform swooping aerial gymnastics during courtship and play. Golden eagles are majestic birds.
