puente hills protected lands

Nearly 4,000 acres have been protected on the western side of the hills. These lands are managed by the Puente Hills Landfill Native Habitat Preservation Authority.

All trails are open from sunrise to sunset, except during extreme or hazardous weather conditions. All trails are closed 48 hours after the rain. Some parks take longer to dry than others; those areas may be closed for longer periods of time. Also, all trails are closed during red flag days (extreme fire hazard days).

ACCESS
There are seven access points to the Puente Hills lands: Hacienda Hills (Hacienda Heights), Turnbull Canyon, Arroyo Pescadero, and Hellman Park (Whittier), Sycamore Canyon and Schabarum Park (L.A. County), and Powder Canyon (La Habra Heights).
