STATUS
The Regional Planning hearing took place downtown Los Angeles on January 14, 2004. After reviewing the testimony of the developer, local residents and staff recommendations, the commission gave the developers a number of tasks to work with Regional Planning staff. First, the developer was asked to address the potential for grading failures by reducing the area to be graded and the amount of grading to take place. Second, they were asked to review with the local water company the size and location of the development’s water tank. Third, the developer was supposed to create an alternative plan with the minimum number of units that would still be economically viable. Finally, they were asked to reduce the oak tree to be cut in the grading for this development. Pacific Communities was then directed to return on March 17 with this new plan. The developer took no further action and the project is limbo yet again.
