About the Corridor: Puente Hills Access

The Puente Hills Landfill Native Habitat Preservation Authority manages lands on the western side of the hills. They have an access guide and can be reached at 562-945-9003. Park hours are sunrise to sunset.

Powder Canyon
This entrance is located on Old Fullerton Road near Pathfinder and Harbor Blvd.; parking is on the street near the Rowland Water Company.

Arroyo Pescadero
This trail system can be entered off the west side of Colima Road, north of Mar Vista Street and across from Murphy Ranch Little League fields. The trail is accessible for those with disabilities. Bikes are NOT allowed on this trail.

Schabarum Park
The Skyline Trailhead can be accessed from this regional park off Colima Road east of Azusa Avenue in Rowland Heights.

Hellman Park
Access can be gained at the end of Greenleaf Avenue and Orange Drive in Whittier. Currently there is construction in the parking lot, but you can park on the street and walk around the construction to the trail. No bikes are allowed on this trail.

Sycamore Canyon
This can be accessed off of Workman Mill Road ½ mile north of Beverly Blvd., near Strong Avenue in Whittier. No dogs are allowed here.

Hacienda Hills
Access off of the 60 freeway at 7th Avenue in Hacienda Heights. The trailhead is at the end of 7th Avenue.

Turnbull Canyon
This land was saved on October 4, 2002. Check this website to learn when it will be open to public use.
